Home is where the heart is!

Ladies and gentleman,

I am finally on German ground. I arrived quite late tuesday evening with around (felt) 40 kg of luggage. Sitting in the airport shuttle I felt quite melancholic. Leaving this nice city while the sun was shining low at old churches and buildings was not as easy as I thought it would be. After that travel I just wanted to sleep and refill my batteries. Here the weather is really bad but it is the perfect weather to stay on the couch, watch movies and drink tea. That is exactly my intention for the last days before christmas. I did some serious shopping to get all my christmas presents from my to do list. Now I´m done and giving other people presents is at least as much fun as getting some yourself. Next week will consist of a meeting with my hairdresser, meeting friends, wrapping up the presents in fancy paper and so on. The usual christmas preparations.

I wish you all a very nice weekend and make the best of it.

Marie

The smell of Glühwein

Sorry for the bad updates recently. I have been quite busy here in the last weeks and days before christmas.

Today I stopped by at the small christmas market at the central station. I missed the smell of Glühwein. Instead you could see, taste and smell all sorts of cheese and prosciutto. I guess that is the Italian way to arrange christmas markets. Also nice but I did not get the christmas feeling I was looking for. I guess I will find that feeling sitting on my Mum´s couch, drinking hot chocolate and watching the typical movie for christmas “3 Nüsse für Aschenbrödel”. Until then I really have to study day and night. But I will also enjoy my last days here. Tomorrow I will go to a very nice exhibition and do some shopping. Then there is a christmas party tomorrow evening and on saturday I will have aperitivo. So a lot to do, not to mention the hard work I will have while packing my suitcase and all the stuff that accumulates itself in a few months.

Here are a few pictures of the christmas market for you. Enjoy!

Santa Claus and Christmas

I think that the loveliest time in the year is the pre christmas time. Unfortunately I cannot spend that time with my family, bake cookies, go to christmas markets etc. So I made myself a small christmas corner in my bookshelf. My Mum also brought me some presents for Santa Claus.
